Volunteers must protect confidentiality, dignity and the safety of vulnerable people.

Why Volunteer

Prevention needs people who can share verified information.

Many young people and families make risky migration decisions because they do not have access to verified information. Volunteers help ASMI-Cameroun extend prevention messages from Moungo to wider communities.

Current volunteer status ASMI-Cameroun is gradually building a responsible volunteer network. All interested volunteers must respect confidentiality, ethics and the organization’s survivor-sensitive approach.

Volunteer Ethics

Good intentions are not enough. Safety comes first.

Volunteers must avoid making promises, publishing survivor details, collecting sensitive information without authorization or acting outside ASMI-Cameroun’s approved communication and referral protocols.

Support ethical survey sharing, data quality checks, dashboard preparation and non-identifying prevention analysis.

ASMI-Cameroun needs volunteers who are disciplined and trustworthy.

Anti-trafficking prevention involves sensitive topics. Volunteers should be careful, respectful and willing to follow clear guidance.

Ability to protect private information and avoid exposing vulnerable people.

Honesty, accountability and respect for ASMI-Cameroun’s mission and procedures.

Ability to share awareness messages without spreading panic, rumors or unverified accusations.

ASMI-Cameroun’s work touches sensitive migration and trafficking issues. Volunteers must act with humility, discipline and respect for survivor confidentiality.

Volunteers do not handle confidential cases unless formally authorized and trained.

Important Boundaries

Volunteers must not act outside approved ASMI-Cameroun procedures.

Volunteers are not authorized to promise rescue, tickets, visas, jobs, money, legal outcomes or direct case intervention on behalf of ASMI-Cameroun.

Sensitive cases must be handled through responsible channels and approved leadership guidance.

  • Publish survivor identity or private locations online
  • Collect sensitive case files without authorization
  • Promise money, tickets, visas, jobs or rescue
  • Use ASMI-Cameroun’s name for personal gain
