Mandate
ASMI-Cameroun’s principal statutory purpose is to prevent and combat transnational and intra-African human trafficking, including trafficking linked to cyber-scam networks, fraudulent employment offers and related forms of exploitation, while supporting the dignified reintegration of survivors.
Our work is humanitarian, social and focused on the protection of human rights.
Statutes
To map, analyse and document trafficking risks, methods and emerging patterns, including the operating methods of trafficking and cyber-scam networks affecting African communities.
To contribute evidence, information and responsible referrals that support coordination with competent institutions involved in victim protection, safe migration and related responses.
To provide or facilitate non-financial support networks, peer mentorship and appropriate legal, psychosocial and reintegration-oriented guidance for survivors.
To develop and disseminate awareness and verification tools relating to international employment opportunities, recruitment risks, fraudulent job offers and safe migration.
To develop and use data-analysis approaches for risk mapping, trend identification, prevention intelligence and early-warning systems relating to trafficking and cyber-enabled exploitation.
Method
We use responsible data collection, risk analysis, community intelligence, scam typologies and public education to identify emerging threats and strengthen prevention.
We promote safe referral, dignity, informed consent, confidentiality, peer support and appropriate pathways for survivor protection and reintegration.
We translate responsible data and field evidence into practical engagement with public authorities, civil society organisations, international organisations, diplomatic missions and other relevant stakeholders.
Through this model, ASMI-Cameroun is developing its role as a Data Sentinel organisation for safe migration and anti-trafficking prevention.
